My name is Jane Ryan, and I am the owner of Travel and Tour Hunters.

To say I have absolutely lived and breathed travel for 35 years would be an understatement. My belief and business ethos are, “to make great things happen, you need to truly embrace the culture of genuine and inclusive customer service and be truly authentic in every interaction with people.” I stive to build lasting relationships.

My philosophy has allowed me to grow a successful business which I started in 1994. Surviving the collapse of Ansett, 9/11, volcano eruptions, terrorist attacks, global weather events, and recently Covid 19 lockdowns, has built years of resilience rather than resentment. I am grateful for every step along the way which has only strengthened my love travelling.

I work from my beautiful home in country NSW. When your life is travel like mine is; there is no need for shop fronts – flights don’t just take off between 9am-5pm and neither do I. When I design a travel experience, I’m completely living and breathing that holiday with you – I don’t want to sit behind a desk and sell you the holiday –I want to email, call, and meet you for coffee or a walk like two friends planning their next adventure. I want to build the excitement to help make your travel dreams a reality by getting to know you a little better. My long-term clients understand my philosophy in business, and I take time to understand theirs.

I am so passionate about the business and life that I’ve created. Designing travel isn’t the job I go to, it’s my oxygen.

Work/life balance fuels my desire for travel – I’m answering your calls while I sip a glass of champagne in Reims, and I’m emailing you while I look out over my beautiful acreage from my desk because in my mind, travel isn’t a job… it’s a part of who I am.

My three decades in travel have shown me that the less time I spend answering phones and handing out brochures – the more time I save so I can carefully cultivate these bespoke and showstopping destination holidays for the serious traveller who understands that I can turn a good holiday into a truly great one.

By living in Australia, The UK, Israel, and South Africa, I have intimate first-hand knowledge of these countries and a deep understanding of the culture. I consider myself more a traveller than a tourist, which absolutely translates into how I plan YOUR trip. When I plan your holiday, I automatically ask myself the question – “what would I want to do if it was me?” My brain is always in the place of the traveller – that means when I go to sleep at night, I’m never thinking thank goodness that day is over. I’m thinking “how can I get a better flight path to Saudi Arabia”, “I wander if John made his connection to Portugal” and “where can I get Sarah-Jane a hotel in Zurich that will let her have her dog there for New Years Eve!” 

Covid was an incredibly tough time for travel agents, but I managed to stay afloat with the corporate clients that have stayed with me for over 10 years. Rather than take this period of complete uncertainty rolling over; I studied for my MBA and graduated. Once the borders opened, I hit the ground running with a shiny business mind and complete zest to take my business to the next level.
